Character Profiles--Title
Malleus- Fighter, human, class-specific undecided
Malleus is from a long line of fighters, some good, some bad. He trained at the Fighters Guild for many years, during which he had a brief encounter with Shay, who was studying abroad. The two hit it off, but Shay seemed eager to continue on his travels, and so the two separated. Years later, Malleus graduates, and through a number of unsuccessful adventuring parties, he began to yearn to lead his own group. In his search for adequate companions, he re-encountered Shay. There was little time for pleasantries, as a powerful Dancer by the name of Ami, user of hand-to-hand combat supplimented by magical steps and psychic powers sought to capture or kill the elven mage. In the battle, Malleus proved himself a formidable opponent, but without having chosen a combat-specialty, he lacked the edge necessary for even the two of them to defeat her. Shay however, had one ace up his sleeve, but it proved to yeild unforseen side-effects... Only Malleus knows the true nature of Shay's unique powers. Although Malleus is earth-aligned magically, he focused all his energy into mana-fueled combat skills.

Strength: High physical strength, durability, and without armor, good mobility.

Weakness: Unarmored, so relies on skillful combat to remain unharmed. Low knowledge, and can be slow to immediately react to danger.

Shay- Myrtek (copier), Elf
Shay left home at a young age due to an abusive sister, Catherine, who on account of his own brotherly instincts couldn't seem to find himself the heart to fend her off. He adventured for a while on his own, and although he gained self-reliance and a broad knowledge of cultures and politics, he found it difficult adapting to the various cultures of the greater world. On his adventures, he encountered a band of adventurers led by Ami, a formidable dancer. Training under her as well as others, he obtained the abilites of a lost tribe of mana mages, known as the Myrtek. Using that power, he could absorb and fuse a persons mana into his own, effectively granting him the ability to use the magic and skills of his opponents. When it became apparent this was an act of selfishness on her part to use him as a weapon rather than an act of kindness, he became enraged. At the dead of night (not needing to sleep being an elf) he absorbed her formidable powers and abandoned Ami and her cohorts. Now pursued by her, he continued traveling from village to dell until he happened upon Malleus. Through their combined efforts, they managed to defeat the lone dancer, as her companions had split up in search. However, Shay had to rely on Ami's powers, and by using them, the rare side effect of the Myrtek power that Ami had failed to mention became apparant... Once the effect wore off, Shay swore Malleus to secrecy.

Strength: High mana pool, Magical Versatility, Broad knowledge of creatures, cultures, and politics.

Weakness: Aside from his very high mana pool, his other stats are average in all other areas.

CJ-Thief, human, Thief with minor time magic
CJ is a little eccentric, so notices what is hard to see but often misses the more obvious. Normality bores him, so he tries to bring a little oddity to everybody’s day. Life is just more fun that way. He left home a little earlier than normal to go see the world, during which he ran errands and such for a rather eccentric mage, who used him primarily due to his abnormal swiftness (he never DID find out how CJ does that). The mage also taught CJ the basics of time magics, though nothing more than that. After the mage disappeared (through a giant temporal rift CJ may have ACCIDENTLY opened when touching things he shouldn’t have), CJ survived by developing his thieving skills and speed to make a living. He does not have much affiliation with his family, but enjoys pestering his slightly older sister on a regular basis. He believes its for her own benefit. It seems that, for a change of pace, CJ decided to give adventuring a shot. He encountered Shay, who found him rather entertaining and invited him to come along. Although Melleus sees CJs necessity in the party, he is not always happy about it. The three, Malleus, Shay, and CJ, have been fine-tuning the “team dynamics” ever since.

Strength: Very quick to react, and high mobility. Only theives can open custom locks.
Weakness: Other than speed, thieves have average stats and must take on a more tactical role to be effective.

Raye- Mage in training, human, Primarily lightning user
Raye is a mage in training, though her moods tend to effect her spells. She is pretty smart, though not quite as much as she believes, and is known for being a little bossy at times (some guys find her too intimidating to approach). She studied magic until she had a good basis of it, and now does minor favors for the Mages guild while picking up things here and there to sharpen her skills. Her brother is both her closest family and the bane of her existence. His lack of consequences and constant need to scare her torment her to no end. Her attempts to halt these behaviors by electrocution have thus far have been ineffective, though do seem to relieve stress.

Strength: Above-average magic power, and only mages can customize spells at later levels to suit varying situations.

Weakness: weak physical stats and must remain in the back row, and like any magic-based job, powerless without mana.

Catherine- Alchemist, Elf, Varying success of concoctions
Catherine is an inventor of items through alchemy, taking the essence of one or more thing (such as fire, darkness, or even life) and turning it into an item. Most of the items are common place, but she can sometimes come up with some surprising (and often destructive) items. She is also Shays younger sister. She had not seen him for quite a while, so was not surprised how different he looked when he returned with Malleus. She puts up a clean front, but is actually a little sloppy (a point Shay loves to drive home). She can get angered sometimes, especially by Shay, but uses a more passive-aggressive means of expressing anger, and is surprisingly good at playing the innocent act (his of course lends Shay to having a little resentment towards her). She often comes up with overly-complex solutions to simple problems, as she's actually a pretty smart individual. However, Shay often competes with her in that area with simpler solutions others would probably miss or not think of. Because of this, she can sometimes be oblivious to things others might easily notice. Overall, she is a pretty, friendly individual who does not cause much friction with others (unless provoked).

Strength: Alchemy provides great utility and versatility, filling any niche.

Weakness: Alchemists have average stats, so must rely on Alchemy to be effective. Also, most alchemical recipes use items not commonly available, and must be carried. Alchemists, when itemless, are generally as defenseless as a mage without mana.
